Indices

The Skytra Price Indices represent the average daily price of air travel within a given region. Initially there will be three regions; Asia Pacific, Europe and North America plus the three connecting interregional indices.

The indices are calculated using data representing over 80% of global ticket sales by value. The unit of value is the US dollar amount for transporting one passenger one kilometre within the given geography, this is described as $/RPK, where RPK is Revenue Passenger Kilometres.

The indices can be used to benchmark the price/revenue of air travel and are the underlying data sets for the Skytra index derivatives contracts that will be traded on the Skytra MTF.
